UNL R & D

Develop a research and development corridor alongside the Antelope Valley improvements from O Street to State Fair Park, to implement the University of Nebraska Board of Regents Master Plan for UNL. The plan shows up to six new research and classroom facilities around the present Beadle Center and College of Engineering. Projects moving forward currently include:

  • Redevelopment of historic Whittier Junior High School into a premier university dry lab research facility
  • Creation of a nanoscience facility
  • Construction of a new physics building

In addition, use the land directly north of the UNL Campus (currently known as State Fair Park) to create Innovation Campus, a private and public technology development campus that would allow private entrepreneurs to work alongside campus research faculty. The campus would link UNL’s city and east campuses. The Campus would be patterned after Centennial Campus at North Carolina State University.
